The Great Lakes region has endured decades of civil war, insurgency and political instability. At GLPC, we believe peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of justice, opportunity and dignity.
We empower local communities—especially young people and women—to become architects of their own peace.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Faruku Kibaba
Founder & Board Chair
Growing up in Kasese, Faruku witnessed violence, child abuse and social injustice. His work with Rotaract and Rotary inspired him to establish GLPC in 2015.
He holds an MA in Peacebuilding and Reconciliation from the University of Winchester and received the Franco-German Peace and Reconciliation Award in 2024.
